Shantaram by Gregory David Roberts
www.shantaram.com
The book is written as fiction, but largely taken from the author's true life story. Sometimes the content is harsh, but the lyrical flow of the words is always thrilling!
A book you need some time to wrap around.

On our camping trip this summer I read a book and found a new favourite - The Birth House / Ami McKay. Well written, good plot and likable characters. A part of my appreciation for it may be that I experienced the subject only 7 months ago, :) but I still really recommend it!

hello!!! i'm 'in' your blog and liking it. i can relate to your homeward bound anticipation. although different, whenever i arrive in ireland i feel the earth sucking my soul through my soles (no really) to form roots under me. it's not the kind of tug i can romanticise. when i settled back in vancouver from london i didn't get the same feeling probably because i don't have any ancestral connection to this place. what's all this mean? i feel the sweet and sour of your return home. it's good for the soul xxox
